San Diego senior placement · Free to your family

Find the right senior living community for your mom or dad, at no cost to your family

You shouldn’t have to figure this out alone. Natalie Barrantes is a licensed care-industry insider (RCFE Administrator) who tours San Diego communities with you, matches your parent’s care needs and budget, and handles everything, the communities pay her, so her help is always free to you.

She replies the same day, texting is fastest.

Yes, our help is 100% free to your family. Here's how.

A senior placement agency works like a buyer’s agent, but for senior living. When your parent moves into a community, that community pays the advisor a referral fee, typically based on the first month’s rent. Your family never pays anything, and your price is never higher because you worked with an advisor.

No contracts. No obligation. No pressure, just answers.

How it works

From "I don't know where to start" to "Mom's settled in", in 4 steps

Maybe there was a fall. Maybe the doctor said “she can’t live alone anymore.” Maybe you’re just exhausted from being the one who handles everything. You’re not alone: 63 million Americans care for an aging loved one (AARP, 2025), and most adult children say the hardest part is simply knowing where to start.

The six types of care we navigate

Paying for care

Worried about affording it? For many families, the answer is the house.

Many San Diego families fund senior living by selling the family home, average home equity often covers years of quality care. Natalie Barrantes is both a placement advisor and a licensed Realtor® (eXp Realty, DRE #01987601), so the move and the sale happen as one coordinated plan, not two crises.

Meet your advisor

Advice from inside the industry, not a call center

Most “free referral” websites sell your phone number to a list of facilities. Natalie does the opposite. For 11+ years she has worked inside senior care, she holds an RCFE Administrator license, the California credential required to run an assisted living community, so she evaluates communities the way an inspector would, not a salesperson. She’s San Diego local, bilingual (English/Spanish), and she tours with you in person.

Adult children, most often daughters, drive about 3 out of 4 senior living decisions (Pew Research, 2026). Natalie’s job is making sure yours is one you never second-guess.

Questions every family asks first

Is a senior placement agency really free?

Yes. Families pay nothing. Senior Living Services is paid a referral fee by the community your parent chooses, typically based on the first month’s rent. Your price at the community is the same either way, and you’re never obligated to choose from the shortlist.

How much does assisted living cost in San Diego?

Most San Diego assisted living communities cost between $7,000 and $20,000 per month, depending on neighborhood, care level, and amenities. Board & care homes often cost less; memory care typically costs more. Natalie helps you find real options inside your actual budget, including current move-in promotions.

What's the difference between assisted living and board & care?

Assisted living communities are larger, with apartments, dining rooms, and activity calendars. Board & care homes are licensed residential houses with 4–6 residents and a higher caregiver-to-resident ratio, smaller, quieter, often more affordable.

How fast can we find a place for my mom?

In urgent situations, like a hospital discharge deadline, Natalie can often arrange same-week tours and a move-in within days. In non-urgent cases, most families complete the search in two to six weeks.

What if my parent refuses to move?

It’s one of the most common situations we see, and pushing rarely works. Natalie helps families start with a no-pressure conversation, explores aging-in-place options first when that’s safer, and knows how to introduce communities in a way that gives your parent control over the choice.

Do we have to sell the house first?

No, and you shouldn’t have to. Natalie coordinates the move and the home sale on one timeline, so your parent settles in first and the house sells without pressure. As a licensed Realtor®, she can also tell you upfront what the home could fund.

What areas do you serve?

All of San Diego County, with deep experience in Rancho San Diego, La Jolla, Escondido, Carlsbad, and National City–Chula Vista. Spanish-speaking families are welcome: se habla español.

Do you help families who live out of state?

Yes. Many adult children coordinate a parent’s move from another state. Natalie works by phone, text, and video, becomes your eyes on the ground in San Diego, touring communities and sending honest reports, and handles everything local until move-in day.

The right place for mom is out there. Let's find it together.

Tell Natalie about your parent today, by phone, text, or this short form. You’ll hear back the same day, with a clear next step and zero pressure.
